I have weekly physics lessons with Nida and so far it's been amazing. She explains topics well and makes it easy to understand. The lessons are flexible enough to do other material as well like revision, exam questions or other subjects completely. The power point slides shown have easy to follow notes and diagrams and are tailored to the curriculum of the exam board you follow. It's been really useful and Nida has been a great teacher.

My Learning room has been very effective with my son and his additional learning for GSCE maths. The process was friendly and easily set up. Amer at Learning room spoke with me and after giving details of my son, his personality and requirements she set up a 10 minute teams call with a tutor she felt would work best with my son. I must say the paring of the tutor Leo and my son was spot on, Leo has done an amazing job so far, my son enjoys his learning, feels more confident and also finds Leo explains the work and math questions in a much more effective way that it is more easily absorbed. My son has already increased his mock grade in a short period of time. I would highly recommend My Learning room and also must add it is a service that is affordable.

My Learning Room is so much more than just a tutoring company!The one on one service is fantastic and the best experience I've encountered across the many tutoring companies we have tried (and not made much progress with).We were concerned about our son's progress at school and wanted to give him some extra help to ensure he can achieve his potential and open a few doors. We felt his school wasn't offering enough as he's a bright boy and capable of more. After failing to be convinced by a few other companies including a local tutor, we came across My Learning Room. We initially started with online GCSE Maths lessons after a very encouraging chat with Amer who was great to deal with. She listened and it was clear she really cared right from the start. The level of tutoring was impressive and we saw improvements within a short space of time. Knowledge on the curriculum was excellent and they focussed on key areas combined with tailored exam practise.We added online GCSE English and Science lessons and again the quality of online tutoring was clear to see, all tutors were very personable and helped build my son's confidence along with his knowledge of these subjects. A patient approach is what was required along with some key advice and techniques; My Learning Room delivered this exceptionally well. It wasn't long before his progress was noticed at school and he was placed in a higher set.My son achieved 8's & 9's across the board. We were simply overjoyed!I genuinely feel this wouldn't have been possible without Amer and the team. We were given advice on further studies, subjects to take and the grades required going forward. My son's confidence has grown so much over these last 2 years and we no longer worry as much as we used to. Great company for anyone who needs that little extra help. My son was predicted a 4 at GCSE Maths, we started the tutoring once a week in December and he received his results 2 weeks ago and got a 6!His tutor was a university student so quite close to him in age and very relatable.Would highly recommend My Learning Room, they are extremely flexible, professional but also personable and according to my son quite fun.Thank you so much, if we need any additional tutoring during his 6th form we will be back.

My daughter Nia has been tutored by Amer since she was in Primary School. She achieved amazing grades for her 11+ and SATS which was mostly attributable to the support she received from her. She is now in year 10 and is being tutored for her GCSE Maths by Amer who is ever so lovely and patient. My daughter absolutely loves her to bits and looks forward to her lessons on Sundays. She is doing very well and way ahead of her peers in class (got great feedback from parents evening at school recently). I have no doubt she will get amazing GCSE results. Both Dillon and Abby have really helped my daughter in preparation for her GCSE’s. She has just completed her mocks and all the content they have taught her has helped massively for these. Both have also given her the confidence and belief to strive in improving on her potential. Amer has also been extremely helpful in organising the lessons and adjusting the lessons to suit our needs. My child has been using this tutorial service for about 2 months now for support in A Level Maths and Further Maths and is feeling much more confident about his exams next summer already. The tutor, Bhav, is exceptional. He teaches in such a way that arms my son with all the knowledge he needs, then gets him thinking for himself to answer the question. The tutor comes to online lessons on time and prepared, and makes my child feel really supported, like they are in it together to get my son good grades. I'm so grateful! The company through which the tutor operates is professionally run – really good service and support when needed, and I get the vibe the boss really values the tutor. I've paid for tuition in the past where it felt like the company was milking the tutor, so this is a nice ethical atmosphere in comparison. The price is reasonable compared to other companies, yet this is a top-quality service. I highly recommend My Learning Room.

I searched for a tutor and found Amer for some help with my daughters eleven plus. She worked with my daughter weekly and was able to find holes in her existing knowledge that she filled to enable my daughter to pass her eleven plus with flying colours.Amer has a very nurturing way and my daughter found they was she taught easy to easy to understand and the weekly homework allowed her to progress even further.I can highly recommend Amer if you want to give your child that additional help during a really stressful period.We feel blessed we found her and honestly believe she had a huge hand in helping my daughter pass her eleven plus and access the amazing grammar school system. Amer tutored both my children: helped my son with his SAT’s exams and my daughter with her 11+ exams. The difference she made is massive. I’m not sure what’s her secret but both of them were so eager to have their mats lessons. The results speak for themselves ; my son is top of the class in year 9, my daughter passed her 11+ exam with 362 points. Amer is a very lovely person, very engaging, covered all the necessary topics, flexible, very responsive. Would highly recommend.

About me

Hi, my name is Abi and I’m currently a 3rd year medical student at the University of Manchester.

Throughout my years of tutoring, I have mastered how to create tailored lessons for students. I take a student led approach to identify their weaker topics and strengthen them by going through the theory and example questions. I like to push students out their comfort zone by encouraging them to try more difficult questions which in the long term benefits their learning and helps them achieve higher grades. I find this job incredibly rewarding and hope to make a positive impact on many more students ’learning.
