Amer

Amer

Hi, my name’s Amer. I began my career as an optometrist and on an odd day decided to open up a TutorHunt profile. A passion for tutoring quickly developed from my excitement in seeing my students exceed their own expectations. This led me becoming the highest rated tutor in the Kent area. As a result, I have gone on to start up My Learning Room, a tutoring company/platform, aiming to provide my students with a more flexible and progressive approach to learning, ensuring they achieve what they deserve.

Jas 1

Jas

Hi, my name’s Jas. I graduated from Kings College London (class of 2015) with a Master in Pharmacy and I’m a practising pharmacist who started private tutoring in 2010.  Long before this, I was aware of my joy in helping others achieve in line with their potential. This mainly began with my peers at school, although quickly expanded when, simply put, my friends needed a tutor for their siblings. It only ever grew from there, I’ve been tutoring ever since.

Andrew

Andrew

Hi, my name’s Andrew. I graduated from the University of Birmingham with a degree in Mathematics. Abby

Abby

Hello, my name is Abby! I am currently an English Literature and Modern Languages student at Durham University, about to start my final year. Over the years, and from growing up in France, I have developed a true passion for literature and an expertise in languages that I wish to pass onto my students by guiding and supporting them throughout their academic journeys. As a student myself, I understand the difficulties and high expectations of school work and exams, however, by sharing my own techniques and experiences, I hope to inspire and help them to achieve their own academic goals.

Emily

Emily

Hi my name is Emily. I’m currently a 3rd year student reading Modern and Medieval Languages at the University of Oxford. Reflecting on my own life, I can see the crucial role that dedicated educators have played in my academic journey by allowing me to develop and explore my own interests in literature and language. I enjoy helping students fulfil their potential through this same process.

Bhav 1

Bhav

Hi, my name is Bhav I am currently studying for a BSc in Maths, Statistics and Business at the London School of Economics. I am capable of tutoring Maths and Further Maths all the way up to A-levels have tutored several students in the past and they have all improved their grades considerably in the time that I was with them. When I tutor, I like to use practise questions alongside the theory and ask my students to explain solutions by offering tips and nudges which allow my students to think and absorb more information rather than being given the answer without any explanation.

Dillon

Dillon

Hi, my name`s Dillon and I love to teach.am currently a medical student training to become a doctor and have also recently graduated with an MPharm degree from KCL.My learning style is tailored completely for the student. I like to structure my lessons such that there is a focus on learning and understanding initially, and then focus on exam technique. Most tutors only focus on learning and then leave little to no time for students to practice exam papers. This in my opinion is a recipe for disaster. I aim to incorporate both elements into my classes. I am familiar with the exam boards of AQA, Edexcel, Pearson just to name a few.

Lindi

Lindi

I prioritise the development of strong exam technique, essay structure, and mathematical argument formation. I do this by ensuring I individualise and tailor the examples/ discussions to best support each student’s needs. My primary subjects I tutor are Maths, French, Economics up to an A Level standard and look forward to seeing my new year of students develop, grow in confidence, and learn!

Flora

Flora

Hello there! My name is Flora and I am a recent graduate in History/History of Art from the University of Oxford. I have been tutoring for over five years across a range of humanities subjects and ages (7+ to university entrance). I was an impassioned student from a young age but had my fair share of struggles along the way and it is both these perspectives that feed my love for and approach to tutoring. I love working with a diverse range of students and think of myself as exceptionally adaptable, no matter where a student is starting from or what they might be aiming for. No matter age, level, or goals, I like to take time to really understand my students and build a positive, confident relationship to help them reach their potential.

My Learning Room is so much more than just a tutoring company! The one on one service is fantastic and the best experience I've encountered across the many tutoring companies we have tried (and not made much progress with). We were concerned about our son's progress at school and wanted to give him some extra help to ensure he can achieve his potential and open a few doors. We felt his school wasn't offering enough as he's a bright boy and capable of more. After failing to be convinced by a few other companies including a local tutor, we came across My Learning Room. We initially started with online GCSE Maths lessons after a very encouraging chat with Amer who was great to deal with. She listened and it was clear she really cared right from the start. The level of tutoring was impressive and we saw improvements within a short space of time. Knowledge on the curriculum was excellent and they focussed on key areas combined with tailored exam practise. We added online GCSE English and Science lessons and again the quality of online tutoring was clear to see, all tutors were very personable and helped build my son's confidence along with his knowledge of these subjects. A patient approach is what was required along with some key advice and techniques; My Learning Room delivered this exceptionally well. It wasn't long before his progress was noticed at school and he was placed in a higher set.My son achieved 8's & 9's across the board. We were simply overjoyed!I genuinely feel this wouldn't have been possible without Amer and the team. We were given advice on further studies, subjects to take and the grades required going forward. My son's confidence has grown so much over these last 2 years and we no longer worry as much as we used to. It was truly a blessing to come across these guys and the consistent positive feedback from the school, exam results and general progress in him as an individual has been such a bright note over these last couple of years.Thank you so much to everyone at My Learning Room. You will not be forgotten and we will keep in touch.

My son was very much struggling with his maths preparation approaching his GCSE’s. I was extremely worried although Amerpreet was absolutely amazing. Her calming approach was extremely beneficial and she has ignited a drive in my son that I’m sure will lead to amazing grades!
